The Yellow River Tanglang Quan Association is not a Kung Fu school and it does not represent any particular master, style or heritage. The YRTQA is an association that embraces and supports all varieties of Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. The YRTQA sponsors seminars and other activities and events that promote the various Northern styles of Tanglang Quan.
Membership in the YRTQA is open to all Praying Mantis Kung Fu teachers, practitioners and enthusiasts regardless of style or heritage. The YRTQA ranking system is overseen by an Examining Board composed of highly skilled practitioners from different Northern Praying Mantis traditions and by a Board of Advisors with decades of experience from several different martial arts traditions. YRTQA ranking is a modern peer-based Duan ranking system not a discipleship. YRTQA ranking system is similar to that now used in mainland China and in many different Chinese martial art styles around the globe.
