进 步 挑 抱 肘 jìn bù tiǎo bào zhǒu Advance Step, Lift Carrying Elbow
Step the right foot forward into a right Hill Cimbing Stance (deng shan bu). At the same time, execute a left inward seal and a right uppercut strike to the hollow spot under the lower jaw.
The sealing technique can be used to smother an incoming strike or to force a raised, defensive arm downward. As in this example, many mantis techniques can be used in both a defensive or offensive manner. Thus, the application is based on the temperament of the practitioner and/or the situation.
左 封 滚 龙 肘 zuǒ fēng gǔn lóng zhǒu Left Seal, Rolling Dragon Elbow
The left hand leaks from beneath the right arm with a left grab. The weight is shifted to the rear to form a Collapse Stance (tun ta). At the same time the right fist is spiraled downward at groin level.
If the enemy blocks my uppercut from the last movement, I quickly grab the wrist of his blocking arm with my left hand. Then I place my right leg behind his leg and strike him in the groin with my right fist to topple him over my right leg. This throwing technique can also be found in the form Zhai Yao San Lu.
